Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

Recognize when there is a victim of cardiac arrest.

Identify when a person may be choking.

Assess the scene for responder safety.

React immediately by activating emergency response systems – call 9-1-1.

Begin chest compressions on unconscious adults, child or infant in cardiac arrest.

Follow depth of chest compression and rescue breath guidelines while responding.

Use an AED device following standardized guidelines.
